Musician-The Love and Life
Greg Squared is the
preferred alias of NYC-based woodwind player Greg
Schneiderman. He's been a mainstay of the Hungry March Band
since the turn of the century. His expressive playing style
figures prominently in the sound of several NYC area Balkan
music ensembles including The Zagnut Orkestar and
Astorianí-. His newest group, Ansambl Mastika, features his
hard-hitting original Balkan compositions, interpreted and
realized by members of such luminary New York acts as The
Zagnut Orkestar, Slavic Soul Party!, Zlatne Uste, and
Romashka.
Greg Squared has had the
pleasure to share the stage with outstanding musicians such
as Matthew Fass, Timothy Quigley, Joey Weisenberg, Reuben
Radding, Matt Moran, Catherine Foster, Tev Stevig, Seido
Salifoski, Brad Shepik, Paul Brown, Beth Bahia Cohen, Adam
Good, and many others. In March 2006 The Zagnut Orkestar
accompanied world-renowned Bulgarian sax player Yuri
Yunakov, for the second anniversary celebration of Maia
Meyhane.
Painter-The Day Job
For the unavoidable day job
Greg Squared does high-quality residential painting. If you
want the walls of your home or business smooth and white
(or whatever color), Greg will do it. With his own business
called 'Anything Painted', Greg Squared wants to repaint
every home and office in the Park Slope/Prospect Park
area.
